-The Devil's Advocate-
It was a bright and sunny day in Mt. Olympus. Qiiro hated sunny days. But, it would be tolerated for now, because the meeting that had been called was of most interest. Agrona, the bashful death mage, had called the meeting. Something urgent, she had called it. Of all the mages, having Agrona call the meeting raised the most concerns. All the mages except she were currently present, had been for almost an hour, and Qiiro could tell some of the other mages were becoming irritated.
"I've had it!" Qiiro glanced across the table to see the Writing Mage slamming his fists on the table. Kisu Fortune Feather, a very aggressive tengu that wrote beautiful pieces of art, but had one of the shortest tempers in existence. He was from a planet in the Andromeda Galaxy, a planet where tengu lived in tribes and barely lived past the reproduction age. Kisu had gotten lucky. He lived way past their normal age. Qiiro had wished otherwise though. "Why can't she just get here already? I've been wasting my time!"
"Calm down, Kisu," Vidal said, "I'm sure Agrona will be here soon." Kisu growled but sat back down with a huff. A sigh of relief was released by the mages. They could only hold out so much longer before Kisu absolutely lost it. Qiiro didn't really care either way, but it knew the others did. Qiiro, current in male evil form, closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. He was about to fall asleep again when the doors to the meeting hall flung open.
Qiiro sat up and smirked a little. There stood Agrona, decked out in her many robes and layers that protected everyone from her dangerous death touch. She glanced around nervously then trained her eyes on the floor. "I'm sorry I'm late," she murmured, "but it was difficult getting her up here."
"Her?" Vidal questioned. Agrona nodded a little then stepped aside. Behind her was… a goddess. Qiiro leaned forward in interest, unable to keep him mouth from opening a little. This woman was enchanting. She was taller than Agrona by about a foot and had dark olive skin. Her eyes were a bright orange that sparked like flames and her hair was black as coal. Long white horns grew from the top of her head and curled back ever so slightly. Her body was as curvaceous as it could be, being quite the hourglass formation. Qiiro couldn't decide where to keep his eyes, up or down. She wasn't helping either, with her clothes not leaving much to the imagination. Not that Qiiro minded. She was wearing a black one piece that a magician's assistant might wear, with it pressed tight against her body and the fabric open above her breasts and over her stomach. She had long black boots that came just short of her knee, and above that was all skin. Qiiro took note of what appeared to be a tail with an arrow tip swishing behind her, but it was hard to tell against the black cloak that hung over her entire body. The woman had a confident smirk that showed off her brilliant smile, fangs included. Without realizing it, Qiiro shifted into his male lust form. The other mages took note and began to snicker.
"Well you've got Qiiro impressed," one mage teased.
"I bet he can't wait to see just how dangerous she is," another called out.
The jeers continued and Qiiro immediately slid down in his seat, face red as a beet. The other mages laughed and carried on, but all stopped when the woman began to move across the room. She moved slowly and methodically, each step seeking to have its own distinct purpose. Her boots clicked against the floor as she walked, only stopping when she stood right beside Qiiro's chair. She spun the Emotions Mage to face her. His jaw dropped a little again and he felt his breath get taken away at this close a sight of her. The woman reached down and traced her finger down the side of Qiiro's face, pleasure coming off in waves from where she touched him. She smiled as she reached his chin.
"You look like a sweet piece of candy. I might enjoy tasting you," she whispered before planting a kiss on his lips then walking back to Agrona's side. The whole meeting hall was silent, everyone's eyes trained on either the woman or Qiiro's wide grin.
It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
"So… what is she?" Vidal asked, breaking the sudden silence. Agrona glanced at the woman and shrugged a little before stepping back.
"My name is Lilith, and I am the mother of all demons. See, for every evil in the world, there is a demon for it. In some cases they appear as grotesque, truly evil looking creatures, such as the cyclops, but other times they are fairly tame, such as myself or that Tengu individual over there."
"I'd hardly call him tame," Agrona muttered, causing a few people to snicker. Kisu growled but didn't say anything.
"And then there's the demons that don't look like demons at all, that merely act as the embodiment of an evil, such as your death mage over here." The snickers were stunned into silence and all eyes shifted to Agrona. Agrona seemed frozen but otherwise didn't seem that panicked about it. The woman continued without hesitation. "Not that it matters, but your friend Agrona and I met when she was touring the world I was roaming. We brushed shoulders and immediately felt something."
"She's a mage," Agrona finished. A stifled silence filled the room. Another Mage?
"What kind?" someone asked.
"I don't know," Agrona replied, "but it's definitely a new mage and I think we should welcome her into our community." There was a tense silence as the mages all looked between one another, unsure of this decision. Finally, one mage spoke up.
"I think we should let her in," Kisu said, "Observe her and if she proves to be dangerous, eliminate her."
"I agree," Qiiro added. "She could prove a valuable resource of knowledge and power to us. Too big for us to ignore."
The murmuring continued amongst the mages for a few minutes before Vidal slammed his fists on the table. The meeting hall immediately fell to silence.
"Let's take a vote, all in favor please raise your right hand." Vidal raised his own right hand and watched as the majority of the other mages did as well. "All opposed please now raise your left hand." All the right hands fell and a few left hands rose. It was an easy victory. "That does it. The majority rules. Welcome, Lilith. You are now an honorary mage."
